Re: Anxiety is ruining my sex life

Got it. Did the two of you talk at all about addressing what's underneath those fears in a way that helps you move past (or at least manage) that anxiety?

Re: Generic pills

If it would make you feel more comfortable to use back-up that's always an option, but given that there's not going to be a gap in the coverage you wouldn't need back-up in the same way you would when first starting the pill.

Hi Angeldelight,

You mention speaking to your therapist about this, which is great. Did the two of you discuss ways to help you manage your anxiety around this?

Re: My uterus is too 'close'?

Hi Emmajones, First off, something that might make you feel better is that, when someone is aroused, their cervix actually pulls back. In other words, it changes how much space is in there. Too, it may help to keep in mind that you haven't been diagnosed with this by a healthcare provider, just by t...

Re: Question about vaginal bleeding

Okay, as a starting place, what kind of access do you have to healthcare in general? Are there clinics or providers nearby who you could get to own your own? Or are you pretty isolated? Shock is a completely normal response to experiencing assault, and I'm so sorry you're having to go through it. It...

Re: Can you give oral if you have a gag reflex?

Exhibitistagirl is right that some people can learn to lessen their gag reflex with practice. But, again, that's only something to try if it's genuinely something you're interested in doing, not something to learn how to do because you feel like you should be able to do it (I point this out because ...

Hi tEall, If your partner is afraid or nervous about having intercourse, then that's likely a sign that she's not quite at a place where she's ready to do that. If she's anxious, it might be helpful for her to think about where that fear is coming from and for the two of you to talk about what you c...

Are you seeing someone about your anxiety, like a therapist?

I'm so sorry to hear it was not a consensual event. Can you tell me a little more about what him not following your boundaries looked like?

Since it sounds like you're not pleased with how sudden and unexpected the encounter was, you might find this article h...

Question about vaginal bleeding

Hi Glitterkat, You mentioned getting an IUD taken out of your arm. However, the only birth control that would be in your arm is the implant. Is that what you had? Since it sounds like you're concerned about pregnancy, can I ask why you had your birth control removed? And when you have sex, is there ...

Re: Can you give oral if you have a gag reflex?

The idea of deep throating is one of those things that some people can do, but for others is simply a no-go no matter what they do. It depends a lot on just how sensitive a gag reflex is, as well as on how comfortable the person is with the action overall.

Hi Invisible, What would happen if you went on birth control and then told them about it, given that you're 21 and it sounds like this is something you want to do? In other words, what would happen if the conversation was not "can I go on birth control" but "You two asked me to update...

Hi theatrebug,

Yep, what you're describing is within the normal variation people experience while on the pill.

Have you given any thought to the questions I asked last time about your comfort level with the type of sex you're engaging in or the birth control you're using?

Re: I don't cry a lot, but I feel like this is a bad thing...

Hi Kittypink, I think it might help to think of crying as something that happens to be some people's automatic sad reaction, while for other people it just isn't as automatic. There's nothing wrong with being someone who doesn't cry easily. With depression especially it's not a good indicator of how...

Then it certainly sounds like you're experiencing attraction to multiple genders, which meets most people's definition of bisexuality or pansexuality. But, as I said above, it's ultimately up to you to decide what term you feel most comfortable using to refer to yourself.

Slang like that can vary, but non-nude likely refers to just that: pornographic images in which there is not nudity, but there is sexual content.

Hi Jellowl, In theory the tampon sits far enough back that it will still absorb everything, although some people find you can get leakage from a tampon that's not quite sitting right or has filled up quickly. So if you were to use a tampon and have it leak, things like that are a more likely cause t...
