Pill and Heat

Hi, my boyfriend and I were just after a little piece of mind. I keep my pill packet in a small case in a drawer in my boyfriends room. Today the temperature outside was 37 Celsius. We had the air con on for most of the day, but in the evening it was switched off, and the room probably reached a hig...

Re: What to say?

Thank you very much for that Edith. What you're saying does seem to be the case. It is frustrating to have to sit and not know what to say or do or how to help. But I was talking to him yesterday when he was anxious and asked him why he was and he said he didn't know, and that he didn't need me to d...

Re: What to say?

Funnily enough I did ask yesterday. He said whenever something that happened (a bad, sad, or embarrassing experience) pops into his mind during sex, he loses interest or motivation I guess. I said if he's on anti-depressants and still experiencing this, plus he felt the psychologist helped when he w...

Re: What to say?

Sorry for not responding sooner - I responded in my head! No, it's not. Since he found out his therapist moved in February, he took a little time to find out where she had moved to, and also got a referral to another psychologist, but hasn't pursued either.

Re: What to say?

He's not a therapist, no. Just a general practitioner. My boyfriend actually went to a psychologist last year, took a small break and then found his psychologist had moved clinics. He only wants to see the same psychologist because he's already opened up to her, even though I've attempted to point o...

Re: What to say?

Thank you very much for that Heather. I absolutely love the list, but I don't know if something so formal and straightforward would be well received. But, I think I'll perhaps try and integrate part of it into our love life, like, 'hey would you find x pleasurable?', 'do you like it when I do y?', i...

Re: What to say?

Hi Heather. I absolutely understand what you mean about product vs process. I just wanted to say in regards to that, while other times we have focused on the fact that we've both had a nice time (without him ejaculating), in this particular instance, we were both agreed in that the aim was attemptin...

Re: What to say?

Thank you both for that. I guess I won't try and push his comfort zone for a while, especially if it doesn't happen again too often. Heather, we are trying, but it often involves me attempting to pleasure him (e.g. oral), rather than both of us being recipients. But, again, that's something we're wo...

Re: What to say?

I'll slowly try to do that. I suppose that could be the case, but this issue started when we were on holidays and pretty much worry-free, so I guess there might be multiple factors at play. Would it be worth pushing the idea of consulting a doctor about it if I manage to get him talking? To see if i...

Re: What to say?

Hi Sam. I do masturbate very regularly, but I would still prefer to have more sex. He is quite sensitive about the topic. I'm not so sure if he'd be up for that, just because it is sensitive. It seems like I can only ask a few questions before he gets too uncomfortable. I've sort of mentioned that I...

What to say?

My boyfriend (21y..o) occasionally has difficulty maintaining arousal and ejaculating when we have sex. I pinned it down to him being on anti-depressant medication. He was on different tablets, then switched to the ones he is currently on, when the problem started. However, in April, he broke up wit...

Re: Stomach Bug

Ahhh yes, that makes a lot more sense Karyn, thank you. I was imagining it more of a missing a pill = going back to zero. But that makes a lot of sense. Thanks very much for that!

Re: Stomach Bug

Thanks for that Redskies. I did actually look at that article before posting haha. It does make a lot of sense, but the main reason I'm confused is because if you miss a pill in the middle of the pack (completely miss), I wouls have assumed the protection would have been ceased. I guess I'm just con...

Re: Stomach Bug

Well, as you said, I'm sure there's a few more things I could understand about it, but that pretty much covers it, thanks Heather! So, with regards to missing a pill, I'm guessing if you've taken more than seven or have more than seven pills left, then the interruption isn't enough to allow the fert...

Re: Stomach Bug

Hi, I hope it's okay if I post another question here - it's sort of related and more out of curiosity/confusion rather than urgency. I was just wondering why it only takes 7 days in a row for the pill to be effective. Is there any particular reason why taking 21 tablets in a row has the same effecti...

Stomach Bug

Hi guys, just wanted to know how to proceed here. On Friday, I had a bit of a stomach flu. I vomited several times 6 hours after taking my pill. I had had unprotected (aside from the pill) intercourse on Friday as well, but also used the withdrawal method. I took another pill at approximately 4:45am...

Double Checking

Hey guys, I just wanted to double check if I've done the right thing. I'm pretty sure I have, but I'd just appreciate the confirmation. I had a very watery, loose bowel movement earlier in the day, then again after I took my pill at the normal time. After going to the toilet the second time, I didn'...

Re: Cold sore?

No problem Nervousone - easy mistake to make.

Just wanted to add that there is no longer any pain at the area unless it splits open (being on my lip, this keeps happening a little bit when I yawn/stretch it too much).

Cold sore?

Hi there, I know this is difficult to do without a visual assessment, but I was wondering if you could help save me a trip to the doctor, or make it clearer if I should go or not. On Wednesday evening, my upper lip was tingling (not uncommon - I have a lot of blackheads/open pores on my lips). I scr...

Re: Questions/Anxiety

Thank you for your suggestions, Heather. My therapist had mentioned mindfulness practice in our sessions, but said I wasn't doing it 'properly'. I took it as more of a yoga/meditation-like practice of acknowledging and letting thoughts go, but was told that it wasn't the case. I will try and look in...

Re: Questions/Anxiety

I might consider it, but it was more the experience of psychology itself, rather than my psychiatrist - I found cognitive behavioural therapy quite useful, but the experience of psychology was very very draining (emotionally) for me. But, I will consider it if I'm still bothered by the same problems.

Re: Questions/Anxiety

That's definitely true. Thank you for that. I'm studying health at the moment and we had to question our own mortality as part of the course, and doing so has sort of shaken my anxiety a bit, so I'm a bit in overdrive right now, I suppose. I know my body pretty well and know that, while I had semi-i...
