Re: Pill question
Hi Danny and Onionpie. Onion, thank you for explaining how twelve hours works in affecting the pill - I have a better understanding of that now. I'm a little confused from both of your responses as I am certain of how regularly I take my pill - I take it very regularly and think of myself as a typic...

Pill question
Hi there. I normally take my pill at 8pm. Two days ago I took it at 9-10pm. Yesterday I went out drinking and began throwing up. I was going to take my pill after I had settled and low and behold I woke up this morning and realise I didn't take it. I took the pill I was supposed to take on Wednesday...

Re: Vulva appearance and lichen sclerosis
Uh, it can! It's nice though - some of my friends are going through the same thing so as hard as it is to have the time constraint, at least there's others going through it. Thank you for that. While I've also heard that dermatologists are good for diagnosing this, this gynaecologist was good and th...

Re: Vulva appearance and lichen sclerosis
I will probably check in with my GP. Depending on what she says I may consult a dermatologist - money is also an issue there as well (specialists are never cheap!) So, there is nothing really tell-tale about LS beyond more 'severe' symptoms that I can use in performing a monthly self-assessment? It'...

Vulva appearance and lichen sclerosis
Hi there. Just wondering if you could shed some insight about vulva appearance in terms of what’s normal and not, and what lichen sclerosis is like. To contextualise, in January I was really sick and needed to take strong antibiotics. They made my vulva itch like mad to the point where I needed to s...

Re: Just checking
That's a pretty good idea Sam. I'll try and make some time for myself over the next few days. Thanks.

Re: Just checking
Hi Sam. For the most part, I do have things to do when I'm stressed. I can talk myself through situations, I go to yoga, I've started walking and things like that, which are all nice and all helpful. It's just sort of a 'perfect storm' kind of situation, with everything coming together at once that'...

Re: Just checking
Hi Onionpie, thank you for your response. When I took the second pill, I thought it was too close to my pill time. Thanks for the clarification. I don't really know what to talk about. It's not that I'm adverse to talking, I just don't really know what to say? I was going quite well for a while, try...

Just checking
Hey there. I've been a bit stressed lately so I just wanted to check something. This evening I took my pill as per usual (8pm). Around 10:30 I ate a cake, then felt a bad urge to go to the bathroom, where I'm pretty sure I pooed out the undigested cake. I went to take a spare pill to be sure. I had ...

Does this count as a history of blood clots?
My mum and I were talking about her medical history. When she was in her late 20s, she miscarried and was diagnosed with lupus anticoagulant antibodies, which caused her to have a clot that resulted in the miscarriage. I was wondering if this particular clot constituents having a history of blood cl...

Re: Hair problem
Thank you, Redskies, that's really quite comforting! I thought to myself that it's really not that much hair, so I couldn't see why it would have to indicate a problem. Good to know that it's more than likely just part of life! That definitely needs to be a message that's spread around more. Thank y...

Re: Hair problem
That's really all I wanted to know. It's really not that much hair - it's just that I've noticed it more now. It looks darker in more sorts of light now (where as it didn't so much before). So even a bit more body hair can just be natural? I really hate how a lot of websites are phrasing it as if no...

Hair problem
Hi guys, I've been a bit anxious about this as of late (I'll finally have more days free next week, though, and I'll be going to therapy! I'm actually excited for it!), so I just thought I'd ask. In high school (over 5-6 years ago), I remember noticing my stomach looked hairy. There were a few dark,...

Re: Condoms and Oil
Ah, I understand. At least it makes a noticeable difference in the condom so that one can tell.
I think I'll just switch out my moisturiser! I really only use it when I shave, so it's not a big bother to play it on the safe side with this.
Thanks, Heather!

Condoms and Oil
Hiya guys! Just a quick, curious question. I know oil-based lubricants and other oils damage condoms. I was just wondering in what specific way they 'damage' them? Does it make them more susceptible to breakages, or other, noticeable condoms failures? Also, I use coconut oil as a moisturiser, includ...
Re: Help
To be honest, I don't think so. I'll mention it to her and see if she's interested but I don't think she'd read it. She reads a lot for pleasure and obviously I know I'm more important but I don't know if I could convince her of the value of it.
Re: Help
Yeah, she is! Lots of shared decision making being taken into account now that we have the luxury of time to decide how to treat me, so I'm a lot happy with my care. Yeah I think you've got it right, Heather. Yesterday I came home very upset because I was feeling overwhelmed and I told my mum that I...
Re: Help
Just a quick update with the illness: I've still got residual fluid in my lungs, meaning it's not all over yet in terms of committing time (and unfortunately thoughts) to this, but the doctor was really helpful and answered all my questions even though she was really pressed for time. Plus, she's in...
Re: Help
By the way, this has all been very comforting.
Re: Help
Thank you, Heather! It is a bit of a suffocating and all-consuming thing. Not fun to think about, but very hard to switch off right now. I think what you've said about the fact that it could have been you, but wasn't resonated with me. My infection could have turned more serious and done irrevocable...
Re: Help
I know he means well in this instance even though, I do agree, he is shutting me down. I think he just wants me to be positive, but for me there's no point in trying if I'm this scared. I think I just won't mention it to him, but I can still talk to him about other things. I told him I was going to ...
Re: Help
Well that's good to know that the way I feel can be helpful in a session. I've been advised in a previous thread to write down how I'm feeling when it happens and while I'll be a bit more careful to do so consistently, I have notes in my 2016 diary of when I've felt anxious and what happened to make...
Re: Help
That sounds good. I'll try and have a look for some in the meantime while I try and figure out seeing someone at Headspace. I sort of have an understanding about the university's support systems, mainly in terms of submitting assignments in times. They've recently changed the policy, though, and to ...
